The Tottenham star could miss a crucial run of fixtures after appearing to elbow Harry Arter at the weekend.

A report in the Daily Mirror has hinted that Moussa Sissoko is in danger of missing three games for Tottenham Hotspur after appearing to elbow Bournemouth’s Harry Arter during Saturday’s goalless draw.

The 27-year-old clashed with the Cherries midfielder during the latter stages of the game at the Vitality Stadium, but escaped punishment at the time.

However, with the Mirror now reporting that referee Craig Pawson missed the incident, Sissoko could now be reprimanded by the FA, who could decide to act once they receive the official’s report of the game on Monday.

Should the FA decide to punish the Frenchman by handing him a three-game ban, that will surely be a significant blow to Tottenham given their next three games in the top flight.

If a decision is not made before the EFL Cup clash against Liverpool on Tuesday, Sissoko could potentially miss the home games against defending champions Leicester and West Ham, as well as the trip to the Emirates for the North London derby with Arsenal in between.

And with just one point separating the top five in the division, Mauricio Pochettino will surely be hoping that the governing body take a lenient view on the incident so Sissoko is able to help Tottenham try and get through the potentially tricky run unscathed.
