Report: Tottenham's Marcus Edwards set for Udinese

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly set to sell Marcus Edwards to Udinese.

According to TuttoUdinese, Udinese are set to complete the signing of Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Marcus Edwards in a shock move.

Spurs talent Edwards had been touted for a huge future earlier in his career, having been in the Tottenham ranks since the age of eight.

Boss Mauricio Pochettino told Sky Sports in 2016 that he saw glimpses of Lionel Messi in Edwards as a youngster, and challenged him to fulfil his potential with Spurs.

That hasn’t happened though, and after loan spells with Norwich City and Excelsior, he has been expected to leave Tottenham for good this summer.

Now, it’s claimed that Edwards is set for a shock move to Serie A side Udinese, and this new report claims he’s actually already in Udine to finalise his switch.

A move abroad has been rumoured for a few weeks now, but few would have predicted a move to Serie A, and he’ll now be playing under Igor Tudor if the move does go through.

Hopefully Edwards will be able to put his game together at Udinese and fulfil that potential, but Spurs may just be happy to have found a buyer for the 20-year-old playmaker.
