Tottenham Hotspur defender Kieran Trippier is reportedly also being pursued by two European heavyweights.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Atletico Madrid have joined Napoli in the race to sign Kieran Trippier, but the pair will have to improve their bids significantly after making initial enquires for the Spurs star.
Trippier has endured a difficult season after the incredible highs of 2018. The Daily Mail reports that Tottenham could look to sign two new full-backs in the summer, but are yet to decide whether they will be willing to let the former Burnley man leave.
The Mail reports that Atletico are preparing a £15 million bid for Trippier, while Napoli are readying a similar offer for the Spurs star, who still has five years left on his contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Trippier may have struggled to replicate the form for club and country of last season, but it may be a gamble to let him leave Tottenham Hotspur Stadium unless a replacement has already been brought in.

He is still one of the best right-backs in the league, and Serge Aurier has arguably only occasionally looked like he is capable of performing at the same level as the 28-year-old. Kyle Walker-Peters remains a promising talent, but it appears that Pochettino is not entirely convinced that he is quite ready to play regularly.
It would be a huge surprise if Spurs had any interest in fielding offers for the prices that both Atletico and Napoli are hoping to pay for Trippier. But it does appear that they are not closing the door on the idea of letting him leave this summer either.
