Tottenham’s Erik Lamela won’t play again this season according to reports.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela won’t play again this season as his bizarre absence is set to continue.
Lamela, 25, struggled with the pressure of replacing Tottenham’s star man Gareth Bale following a 2013 move from Roma, but he has been gradually improving under Mauricio Pochettino.
After two goals and seven assists in his first league campaign under Pochettino, Lamela notched five goals and nine assists in the Premier League last season, with a further six goal to his name in the Europa League.
A key part of Tottenham’s pressing play, Lamela looked set for a big year, but his goal on the opening day of the season against Everton was about as good as it got the Argentinian international.
Lamela has played just 14 games in all competitions this season, with his last appearance coming against Liverpool in an EFL Cup tie way back in August amid ‘injury’ problems.
Whilst Lamela has complained of a hip injury, the Daily Mail report that a scan showed no problem for the winger, and Pochettino has had Lamela working with his medical staff to try and resolve the issue.

The report states that Lamela won’t play again this season as a result, and there’s a slim chance that he’s played his last game for the club amid rumours over his long-term future at White Hart Lane.
Corriere Dello Sport claim that Inter Milan are keen to offer the former Roma star a summer return to Italy as they pursue a new winger, and having witness him endure mysterious injury problems for almost six months, Spurs may well be tempted to cash in if an offer arrives.
