Georges-Kevin Nkoudou looks set to come the other way.
Tottenham’s Clinton Njie during training
Clinton Njie has passed his medical and will imminently join Marseille, according to BeIN Sport.
The report claims that a club doctor was sent to London yesterday to assess the Cameroonian and he has now been given the all-clear to complete his switch.
Tottenham’s Clinton Njie
The deal is said to include a compulsory purchase clause of around 7 million euros (£5.8 million) which will trigger at the end of the season.
Njie will exit White Hart Lane after failing to ever get going, making just 14 appearances in what was an injury hit debut campaign at Spurs.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino
The pacey winger showed flashes of potential in the brief moments he took to the pitch but clearly hasn’t done enough to impress Mauricio Pochettino on the training ground over recent weeks.
Georges-Kevin Nkoudou at Marseille
His exit is likely to coincide with the arrival of Georges-Kevin Nkoudou, who has completed a medical with the club, and Spurs will be hoping for better luck with their newest Ligue 1 recruit.
Nkoudou is a pacey, direct winger similar to, but technically superior than, Njie and with seemingly much higher potential.
The 21-year old will add a much needed injection of speed to the Tottenham attack and will give Pochettino an alternative option to consider when plan A isn’t working.
