The Tottenham Hotspur ace has less than 12 months remaining on his current contract.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham are prepared to offer Christian Eriksen a new deal worth in excess of £160,000 per week, but the Dane wants a release clause inserted into said deal, if he is to commit to a new contract.
The 27-year-old joined Spurs from Ajax in the summer of 2013 for around £11.5 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to be a real hit with the north London club, racking up 66 goals and 86 assists in 277 appearances in all competitions.
Eriksen’s current contract expires next summer, however, so if Tottenham fail to tie him down to a new deal before the end of this transfer window, they might just decide to move him on, rather than risk losing him for nothing next year.
Tottenham are keen on signing one of either Giovani Lo Celso or Bruno Fernandes, according to the Daily Mail, but they are also trying to keep the Denmark international.

The British newspaper claims that Spurs are prepared to offer Erisken £160,000 per week at least. The midfield play-maker wants a release clause inserted into his new contract, however, that would enable him to join certain clubs for a fixed price.
Whether Tottenham will be prepared to agree to those terms, however, remains to be seen.
