Tottenham Hotspur would find it ‘incredibly difficult’ to land Brendan Rodgers from Leicester City, the Telegraph report.

Spurs are considering their options with Jose Mourinho’s position now under severe pressure.

Tottenham are unlikely to sack Mourinho in mid-season, but there is a possibility that if results don’t improve then Daniel Levy could look at alternative options at the end of the campaign.

Rodgers is one of the names on Tottenham’s wishlist, but landing him could be a real struggle according to the latest update.

It is claimed that Rodgers would be extremely expensive and may not even be interested in leaving Leicester now.

The Foxes look likely to make it into the Champions League this season, and there are no guarantees that Tottenham will do the same.

Mourinho’s Spurs side currently sit in ninth place, and are a long way back from the top four as things stand.

Rodgers would be an appealing addition in many ways, as he has proven himself to arguably be the best British coach currently working in football.

His methods generally promote a more attractive style of football than Mourinho and he has a great track record of improving players.

But Tottenham could apparently struggle to convince him to join at this moment in time for multiple reasons.
