Conflicting reports are emerging about Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Jack Clarke.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur have plans to use Jack Clarke in their first team rather than loan him back to Leeds United.
Spurs haven’t made a single first-team signing since January 2018, but they now appear to be closing in on Leeds talent Clarke.
The 18-year-old impressed in his first Championship campaign last season, hitting two goals and two assists under Marcelo Bielsa, though only four games came as a starter.
Now, it’s claimed that Spurs are closing in on an £8.5million deal for Clarke, though the Yorkshire Evening Post maintain that Leeds haven’t actually received a bid yet.
The Express claimed over the weekend that Tottenham were set to land Clarke for £15million but send him back out on loan, and that no longer appears to be the case.
Clarke has huge potential having shown real promise on the right flank with Leeds, showing that he has pace and great confidence to take on far more experienced full backs.
Having starred under Marcelo Bielsa, it’s no great surprise that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on Clarke, with many of his tactical principles taken from mentor Bielsa.

What’s interesting is that Pochettino has mostly switched to a 4-3-1-2 system in 2019, playing without natural wingers – something Clarke may have to adapt to going forward.
For now, it seems like Clarke will have an important role from the bench for Pochettino, whilst being a real talent for the future as Tottenham finally close in on a new signing.
Leeds will be able to balance the books and give boss Bielsa a transfer kitty boost, especially with the Argentinian pursuing a whole host of wingers, potentially realising that Clarke would be on his way out.
