Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur won’t go all-out to sign Wigan Athletic starlet Kyle Joseph this month, according to Football London.

The 19-year-old hot shot isn’t short of admirers on both sides of the border, with Rangers, Celtic and Sheffield United all linked since the turn of the year.

But while Spurs are keen on signing a teenage centre-forward who has been a beacon of hope in a grim season at the DW Stadium, it would be wrong to suggest they are frantically attempting to agree a deal before the 1 February deadline.

Far from it.

If a bidding war develops between Celtic, Rangers and Sheffield United, expect Tottenham to stay on the fringe.

According to reports from the capital, the north London giants have high hopes for teenage pair Troy Parrott and Dane Scarlett.

So while Joseph has plenty of admirers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, there’s no desperation to get him through the door this month.

18-year-old Parrott shot to fame with some seriously impressive performances during the 2019 pre-season tour and is currently following in Harry Kane’s footsteps with a loan spell at Millwall.

Scarlett is even younger. At 16, the teen sensation, who has scored 20 goals in 13 reserve-team games this season, made his senior debut in the Europa League before Christmas.

Joseph is out of contract in the summer and could then join former Wigan teammate Alfie Devine at Tottenham.
