West Bromwich Albion could be closing in on the Tottenham Hotspur forward.
According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are willing to sell Vincent Janssen to West Bromwich Albion provided they secure Fernando Llorente in the coming hours.
The Baggies are said to have made a bid for the Netherlands international last week and Tottenham are allegedly willing to part company with the 23-year-old for around £25million.
It remains to be seen if that is the fee West Brom initially offered or if Spurs are hopeful of getting a bit more out of Tony Pulis’s side with time running out to bring in new recruits.
West Brom have impressed with their summer transfer business and, if Janssen arrives and rediscovers his best form, he could prove his doubters wrong and become an integral part of this Baggies side.
Whether he is worth £25million given his struggles remains to be seen, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is loathe to get the rough end of any transfer deal involving his club.
West Brom recently completed a double deal for Kieran Gibbs and Grzegorz Krychowiak and bringing in Janssen on deadline day would add a cherry to the proverbial cake.
The Dutchman may have struggled at Spurs yet his international form and his time at AZ Alkmaar paints a different picture, and he may simply need a club where he can play week in, week out and slowly and effectively get back to his best.
