Tottenham Hotspur are said to be interested in landing Aurelien Tchouameni in January, by Calcio Mercato.

Tchouameni to Spurs?

Tottenham transfer chief Fabio Paratici is said to be a big fan of the defensive midfielder, who is emerging as one of the hottest properties across Europe.

His form for Monaco has seen him force his way into France’s team, and it is believed that he is destined to become one of the best midfield enforcers in world football in the years ahead.

Tottenham are now apparently willing to submit a significant fee to signing Tchouameni next year.

Spurs would apparently pay upwards of £35 million for his services, which could be a shrewd investment.

Big competition in midfield

If he was to join Tottenham it seems most likely he would compete with Oliver Skipp and Pierre Emile Hojbjerg for a spot in Nuno’s side.

It would be difficult for all three of Tottenham’s midfielders to start together, but Tchouameni’s arrival would give Spurs real depth in the centre of the pitch.

Paul Pogba labelled Tchouameni as an ‘extraordinary’ player recently to France Football, in further exciting comments about the 21-year-old.

But if Tottenham are to win the race for his signature they are set to have to beat off competition from a number of sides, as he is so widely wanted.
