According to The Telegraph, there are growing fears at Tottenham Hotspur that Antonio Conte will be leaving the club this summer.
The Italian is notoriously hard to please as a manager, and when things aren’t going his way off the pitch, he’s more than happy to take his ball and go home.
Spurs are worried about a potential Conte departure, but fortunately for the north London club, they already have a plan in place for if they do.
Indeed, according to the Telegraph, if Conte leaves Spurs, they will once again speak to Mauricio Pochettino about a potential return to the club.
Pochettino was strongly linked with the Spurs job after the departure of Jose Mourinho last year, but, sadly for Spurs, that never came to fruition.
However, throughout those reports, it was clear to see that Spurs do retain a lot of admiration for Pochettino, and a return in the future may well be on the cards.
How realistic is this? Well, Simon Jordan said that he found the move ‘difficult to comprehend’ in the summer, and to be honest, we can understand why.
Pochettino had the chance to become a real Spurs legend at one point, but he was unceremoniously binned just a few months on from leading the club to a Champions League final.
Why would he want to return to a club that discarded him like that? Especially when he’s currently in charge of PSG and being linked to the Manchester United job.
This seems to be a situation worth keeping an eye on, but it’s hard to see Pochettino actually returning to Spurs.
