The reported Tottenham Hotspur target has a clause in his contract allowing him to join Barcelona for a cut-price fee.

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Jean Michael Seri for a while now, but the latest report – from Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo – makes for particularly interesting reading.
The 25-year-old Nice player has been one of Ligue 1’s standout stars this season, and while Tottenham have plenty of options in the centre of the park they need more squad depth as they bid to challenge both domestically and in Europe next season and beyond.

Seri would certainly give them more quality, with the box-to-box midfield possessing the energy and the creativity to excel at Spurs.
The problem is, Mundo Deportivo reports that while Tottenham will have to pay £34million for Seri, Barcelona can get their man for a knock-down fee of just £17million.
That is because the player allegedly has a clause in his contract allowing him to join Barcelona for a reduced fee if the Catalan giants come knocking.

With seven goals, nine assists and a string of outstanding performances in the centre of the park for Nice this season, Seri is likely to be in demand, and Barca are reportedly planning a move in light of interest from not just Tottenham but also Paris Saint-Germain, Sevilla and Monaco.
While Seri may be dreaming of Barcelona, his current club are likely to be dreaming of a bigger money move elsewhere, and if the La Liga club do not complete a deal, Tottenham would be wise to swoop in despite the hefty price tag.
Seri is the real deal, and wherever he ends up expect him to be dubbed a bargain sooner rather than later.
