90Min claim Liverpool star Joe Gomez has emerged as a target for more than half of the Premier League – with Leicester, Tottenham, Newcastle and West Ham emerging as the clubs showing the most interest in the defender.
Gomez, 24, has fallen down the pecking order at Liverpool. His season-long injury during 2020-21, as well as the signing of Ibrahima Konate, has seen him become Liverpool’s fourth-choice centre-back under Jurgen Klopp.
With the World Cup on the horizon, Gomez’s chances of making that squad are almost zero at the moment. He needs a move and in the summer, it is likely he will push for an exit come the end of the campaign – as per 90Min.
The report states that Gareth Southgate is ‘desperate’ to see Gomez move on – and that more than half of the Premier League are keen on landing him. Brendan Rodgers is keen to raid his old side and bring Gomez to Leicester.
But the competition is aplenty. Tottenham are also said to be keen, as are Newcastle with Eddie Howe now looking as if he has kept the Toon in the Premier League. West Ham are also keen on London-born Gomez.

Tottenham, West Ham, Newcastle or Leicester – where best for Gomez?
West Ham are probably best placed. Gomez is a London boy, and given the Hammers are in need of a centre-back and are likely to be playing in Europe next term – a move to the London Stadium suits Gomez.
Leicester will be without European football unless they win the Conference League. But they do have Rodgers, who signed him at Liverpool. Tottenham are also a strong temptation for Gomez – again, given their whereabouts.
But also because Antonio Conte still has a chance of getting Spurs into the top four. At Newcastle, the temptation of a big wage will be attractive. All four could end up tempting the unused Liverpool star.
