According to Fennec Football, Twente midfielder Ramiz Zerrouki is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur – but he wants to stay put.
Zerrouki is a former Ajax talent who joined Twente back in 2017, but he really began to shine in the Eredivisie last season.
The midfielder racked up 31 appearances for Twente, recording two assists and seemingly attracting Tottenham’s interest in the process.
Tottenham’s pursuit of Zerrouki
It’s stated that Tottenham are keen on luring Zerrouki to North London, but he wants to stay with Twente for one more season.
Zerrouki has a contract until 2023, meaning Twente aren’t under immediate pressure to sell, even if the step up from Twente to Tottenham is massive.
Tottenham did raid Twente for Nacer Chadli back in the summer of 2013, and seemingly want to repeat the move by signing Zerrouki – but they may have to wait a year.

What has been said about Zerrouki?
The Algerian midfielder has been hailed by Le Buteur this month, branding him ‘very elegant and a ‘real boss’ in midfield, suggesting that he ‘excelled’ at pressing.
De Telegraaf in the Netherlands have called Zerrouki a ‘late bloomer’, as he is already 23 but has only just started to make a name for himself.
Zerrouki can offer depth in midfield for Tottenham, though it’s unclear whether Fabio Paratici or Steve Hitchen is leading Tottenham’s interest in the Eredivisie star.
