According to Calciomercato, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie at the end of the season.
It’s claimed that Chelsea and Manchester United also want to sign McKennie, with the Premier League trio impressed by his performances on loan at Juve.
The report notes that Juve have paid €4.5million (£4million) to take McKennie on loan from Schalke, and they an turn the deal permanent for around €18million (£16million) at the end of the season – though the final price could end up being €30milion (£27million).
Juventus may be tempted to turn the move permanent and immediately sell McKennie for a profit, with Premier League clubs seemingly lining up to sign him.
McKennie has allegedly convinced Andrea Pirlo of his quality with ‘dynamism and inexhaustible energy’, so it can’t be ruled out that he stays in Turin in the long term.
The 22-year-old has notched two goals and two assists in 15 games for Juve, mostly playing as a box-to-box midfielder in Pirlo’s 4-4-2 with Juve,

McKennie’s hard work and running ability should be very appealing to Jose Mourinho, and he could fit as a long-term successor to Moussa Sissoko in front of the Spurs defence.
The American will be a name to keep an eye on in 2021, with Spurs looking for midfield reinforcements – but much will depend on what Juventus decided to do with his permanent option.
