Tottenham Hotspur are interested in selling Kyle Walker-Peters when the transfer window opens, Sky Sports has reported.
Walker-Peters joined Southampton on a half-season loan from Spurs in the January transfer window but has struggled.
The 23-year-old, a Tottenham academy product, has managed only one Premier League appearance for the Saints.
But according to Sky Sports, the right-back wants to stay on the South-Coast and see out the 2019-20 campaign, when the season resumes.
The report adds that Tottenham will listen to ‘permanent offers’ for him this summer.
This is probably for the best. Walker-Peters was once said to have ‘amazing quality‘ by Mauricio Pochettino but he isn’t consistent.
And the truth is, he turned 23 last month so he should be a lot closer to senior football at Tottenham if he was going to make it there.
Pochettino’s departure seemed to kill Walker-Peters’s hopes of being a first-team regular in North London and a permanent move to another Premier League side would be ideal, if he plays every week.
