Tottenham decided to loan Vincent Janssen to Fenerbahce in the summer.
The 23-year-old was shipped out for the 2017-18 season by Mauricio Pochettino, but it now appears that Spurs included a clause in the Holland international’s contract that will allow the north Londoners to recall him in January.
It is said that Fenerbahce all doing all they can to keep the former AZ Alkmaar striker, who struggled to impress with Spurs after joining the club for £17million in the summer of 2016.
He has hardly improved in Turkey, managing just three goals in 13 league and cup appearances but has turned somewhat of a provider with four assists in that time.
The report states that Spurs are either looking to recall Janssen due to the form of summer signing Fernando Llorente who is yet to hit the heights expected of him following his heroics with Swansea City.
However, it is also believed that a move to recall Janssen could be because Serie A side Napoli are looking to sign him permanently in the winter window, which could give Pochettino funds to strengthen in January if needed.
It remains to be seen if Janssen will be recalled in January for either reason, with just a matter of days left before the January window hits.
