According to Football.London, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius.
It’s claimed that Spurs have put the 25-year-old on their wish list as Jose Mourinho looks to bring a new striker to the club.
Vinicius starred this past season, scoring 22 goals in 40 games for Benfica across all competitions.
The Brazilian previously scored goals at Real and Rio Ave in Portugal, but after failing to break through with Monaco, he headed to Benfica in 2019.
Vinicius has now emerged as a target for Spurs, with Mourinho no doubt aware of the striker’s exploits back in Portugal.
Vinicius fits the bill that Tottenham are looking for; he is big and strong at 6ft 3in tall, whilst also being very mobile.
The Brazilian can serve as the target man figure Spurs are looking for behind Harry Kane, but Benfica surely won’t sell on the cheap.
They tend to rake in big money for their players, and with Spurs hardly flush with cash this summer, making an offer to tempt Benfica could be difficult.
