Tottenham Hotspur plan to hold out for a huge fee for Manchester City target Kyle Walker.
Tottenham’s Kyle Walker
A report in The Sun has suggested that Manchester City may have to pay as much as £50 million if they hope to sign Tottenham defender Kyle Walker this summer.
The Sun reports that City have earmarked Walker as a key target at the end of the season as Pep Guardiola looks to freshen up his options at full-back, and are actually confident of pulling off a deal with Walker currently considering his future with Spurs.
According to The Sun, the 26-year-old has been left frustrated by Mauricio Pochettino’s desire to rotate between Walker and Kieran Trippier and the fact that he is some way adrift of being one of the club’s top earners.
And while Tottenham seem ready to sanction a deal, they are ready to ask City for an eye-watering £50 million if they hope to take the former Sheffield United man to the Etihad Stadium.

With Trippier often looking to be a decent alternative to Walker, it would hardly be a surprise if the supporters were open to the idea of seeing the latter leave if such an incredible fee was involved, even if it was to a Premier League rival.
With that kind of money, they would surely be able to find a replacement for Walker, and may have more than enough money left over to strengthen the squad in other areas also.
Having said that, if Walker leaving is likely to have a negative impact on the squad then Daniel Levy would surely be wise to dig his heels in and tell the Citizens that they need to consider other options.
