Report: Tottenham told to pay £30m for Callum Wilson as Everton and West Ham join race

According to the Daily Mail, Bournemouth won’t allow striker Callum Wilson to leave on the cheap this summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

It’s claimed that Spurs are now set to make a move for a new striker having landed goalkeeper Joe Hart and midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

Wilson is one of the players Tottenham are eyeing, but Bournemouth allegedly want £30million for their leading striker.

Tottenham aren’t alone in the race, as Everton have joined West Ham United and Crystal Palace in pursuing Wilson.

Wilson would surely love a return to the Premier League having dropped into the Championship, but that price could be prohibitive.

Tottenham aren’t really in a position to splash £30million on a second-choice striker, and would likely look for a more budget-friendly option.

Wilson does tick the boxes for Spurs, as he is an England international with a decent Premier League record, meaning they can rely on him to offer cover and competition for Harry Kane.

The 28-year-old hit seven Premier League goals last season, which isn’t really the grounds for a £30million deal – especially given his age.

Unless Tottenham can talk Bournemouth down from that £30million asking price, it’s hard to see Wilson heading to North London – and that could let Everton or West Ham into the race.
