Italian outlet CalcioMercato report that Tottenham Hotspur have been told a fee of £13million will be enough to sign Atalanta ace Ruslan Malinovskyi – with London rivals West Ham United also said to be keen on luring him to England.

Malinovskyi, 29, is expected to leave Serie A side Atalanta in January. The 51-time Ukraine player is out of contract at the end of the season and if the Italian club want any cash for their attacking midfielder, they need to sell him.

CM say West Ham and Forest are among the clubs looking to sign Malinovskyi. But the latest report from CM says Tottenham have been told the “extraordinary” star can be bought for a tiny figure of just £13m in the coming weeks.

Spurs need more in the final third. Injuries this season already have shown that they need another body, if not two, in attack. Richarlison, Lucas Moura, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski have all spent time on the sidelines.

Indeed, it has seen Ivan Perisic play up front with Harry Kane on occasion. So, Spurs need a versatile attacker that can play on either wing, possible in a deeper attacking midfield role. Just to simply provide cover for Tottenham.

Malinovskyi would be perfect. Spurs and Antonio Conte have shown they do not mind signing a player who is in the second half of his career if worth it. At £13m, a player with 404 appearances under his belt for club and country.

He would probably struggle to start for Spurs. But Malinovskyi is the kind of player Conte would love to turn to from the bench. A player he can trust. One that he knows can have an impact in numerous positions off the bench.
