Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are planning to go head to head in the race to sign the Charlton Athletic defender.
Charlton Athletic’s Ezri Konsa
A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle it out for Charlton starlet Ezri Konsa this summer.
Konsa is one of the brightest prospects coming through at the Valley currently, having made 32 League One appearances for the Addicks during this past season and earning the club’s Young Player of the Year award as the side could only register a mid-table finish in the third tier.
The Mirror reports that Spurs and the Gunners are ready to hand Konsa – who was selected in the England under-20 squad for their recent World Cup win, appearing in the semi-final victory over Italy – the chance to make the step up to the top flight.
Although those close to the 19-year-old may have some concerns about the youngster joining either Tottenham or Arsenal, both have shown in recent times that they are not afraid to quickly make younger players signed from the lower leagues prominent parts of their respective squads.

Rob Holding played for the duration of the FA Cup final this past term less than one year after playing for Bolton in the Championship, and appears to have a very bright future ahead of him.
And of course, Dele Alli has become something of a talisman for Tottenham less than two years after playing in League One with MK Dons, scoring 28 Premier League goals in that time, so it is perhaps fair to say that the versatile defender could thrive at Spurs or at Arsenal.
