Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with the talented Argentine.

According to the London Evening Standard, Tottenham Hotspur will discuss the prospect of signing Juan Foyth this week, after tracking the talented 19-year-old for a while.

The centre-back currently plays for Estudiantes and sources have told the Standard that the deal could cost Tottenham around £10million if they opt to proceed.

Officials from Foyth’s club will travel to Europe this week to discuss a possible move with Tottenham staff, and if an agreement can be reached the player could even complete his switch before the weekend.

Spurs fans have been waiting patiently for some positive news in terms of transfers, but as yet it has been all (paper)talk and no action.

There is still plenty of time to get some deals over the line and, if Foyth does arrive in North London, he would surely only be the start of a substantial recruitment drive, with a new striker and an additional winger likely to be at the top of Mauricio Pochettino’s wish list.

The Tottenham boss is said to rate Foyth very highly and sees him as a star of the future, yet if he arrived in England as early as next season, it remains to be seen if he would move straight into the first-team fold or head out on loan to continue his development.
