Tottenham and Roma will reportedly meet on Wednesday to resolve the future of Antonio Sanabria.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, Tottenham and Roma will meet on Wednesday to try and agree a deal for striker Antonio Sanabria.
Spurs opened their summer transfer activity on Thursday by signing Victor Wanyama from Southampton, and whilst a holding midfielder was certainly needed, the Kenyan’s arrival didn’t solve Tottenham’s biggest problem.
As talented as Harry Kane is, the England international had no cover behind him last season and was subsequently forced to start every single Premier League game.
Kane now looks tired for England at Euro 2016, and Spurs must add at least one striker this summer to take some of the pressure off Kane, and prevent him from being exhausted next season.
Now, Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Tottenham are pushing to sign Roma striker Antonio Sanabria – and representatives from the two clubs will meet on Wednesday to try and thrash out a deal.
Sanabria, 20, was on the books at Barcelona before joining Roma back in January 2014, but has made just one appearance for the Italian giants so far.
The Paraguayan striker spent last season on loan with Spanish side Sporting Gijon, where he hit an impressive 11 goals to show Roma what he can do – or put himself in the shop window.
It’s claimed that Roma could seek a deal worth up to €20m (£16.25m) for their young striker, which is some increase on the £11.5m deal claimed by Gazzetta Dello Sport earlier this week.
Spurs will be hoping to wrap up a deal during the meeting on Wednesday, but with Sanabria still being very inexperienced, it would be little surprise to see manager Mauricio Pochettino target another striker even if he does sign Sanabria this summer.
