Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a late swoop for the PSG defender.

According to French newspaper L’Equipe, Tottenham Hotspur do not have much longer to wait before they discover if Serge Aurier can travel to England to wrap up his protracted transfer.
It is being claimed that Tottenham have agreed a five-year contract with the Ivory Coast international with a fee of £23.1million sealing the deal.
The problem comes from Aurier’s current visa situation, with the London Evening Standard recently clarifying the issue.

It remains to be seen if the Home Office will grant the player a UK work visa after his conviction for assaulting a police officer last year – a decision the player has since appealed.
Tottenham need another right-back following the sale of Kyle Walker to Manchester City earlier this summer, and Aurier would fit the bill.
However, with time running out Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino could be left frustrated by the player’s visa situation.

With just a few hours to go until they finally discover whether the move can go ahead, Spurs may be forced to make a swift about-turn and target another defender in what remains of the transfer window.
So far it has been frustrating for Pochettino, with only Davinson Sanchez and Paulo Gazzaniga arriving to date.
Aurier is yet to reach his peak and he could go down a storm at Wembley this season, but this one could go down to the wire.
