Tottenham Hotspur are considering trying to bring Adam Smith back to the club after his excellent spell with Bournemouth.

A report in the Daily Mirror has suggested that Tottenham are weighing up trying to sign Bournemouth full-back Adam Smith this summer, three years after he was allowed to leave White Hart Lane.

The Mirror reports that Kyle Walker’s Spurs future is up in the air currently with Manchester City keen on signing the England international.

It appears that Mauricio Pochettino is preparing to have to sign a replacement for Walker this summer, as the Mirror adds that he is an admirer of the Cherries ace, who has enjoyed an excellent season down at the Vitality Stadium.

Smith has missed just two Premier League games all season for Eddie Howe’s men, and has contributed one goal and five assists to help Bournemouth go into the final two games of the campaign safe in the knowledge that they will be playing in the top flight again next year.

However, it remains to be seen whether Smith will still be a Bournemouth player when the new campaign begins with his former club now seemingly interested in a deal.

The 26-year-old left Tottenham in 2014 having made just one league appearance for Spurs, and having spent much of his time since graduating to the first-team out on loan.

With Pochettino now in charge however, and with Spurs now very much expected to challenge for the title and other pieces of silverware, it appears that Bournemouth may perhaps face a battle to keep one of their stalwarts if Spurs’ interest is now confirmed with a summer bid.
