Tottenham Hotspur are hoping that they will be able to get Reo Griffiths to commit his future to the club.

Griffiths is attracting attention from a number of clubs after a stunning season in Tottenham’s youth ranks. He has scored over 30 goals, including four during the under-18s’ 9-0 win over Arsenal last week, during which he also provided three assists.

But Spurs are hoping that they can convince Griffiths to stay put, with ESPN adding that the club hope to begin talks with the 17-year-old about a new deal this week.

While Griffiths is yet to make his debut for Mauricio Pochettino’s side, it would still appear to be a major coup for Spurs to get him tied down to a professional contract as he is undoubtedly threatening to be a real star of the future.
Tottenham have struggled to find an understudy for Harry Kane in the past few years, with Vincent Janssen and Fernando Llorente amongst those who have floundered in the role. Getting Griffiths to sign a new contract and snub interest from elsewhere would arguably take the teenager one giant step closer to being considered for the first-team fold.
