Well, we’re into the final 10 days of the transfer window and Dele Alli’s future at Tottenham Hotspur still seems unclear.
The 24-year-old is heavily linked with a move away from Spurs this month, amid speculation that Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino wants him in the French capital.
According to The Sun this week, Alli himself is confident that he’ll secure a switch away from Tottenham, having earned only 75 minutes of Premier League football this season.
But Football London have reported that if the North Londoners do sanction an exit, it’ll only be on loan.
According to Alasdair Gold, there is hope that Alli could enjoy something of a Tanguy Ndombele-type revival with the Lilywhites and therefore they’re reluctant to sell him permanently.
Ndombele was in a similar boat as the England international last summer, in the sense that he was out of form, out of Mourinho’s plans and seemingly had one foot out the door.
But the French midfielder has been one of Mourinho’s stand-out players this season, exemplified by his goal of the season candidate last Sunday.
And it’ll be fascinating to see whether Alli can recapture his form under Pochettino while the Portuguese coach is there.
