Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want Everton’s Michael Keane.
According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in snapping up Everton defender Michael Keane this summer – but he would cost around £50mllion.
Keane, 26, became one of the Premier League’s top centre backs with Burnley, earning a big-money move to Everton off the back of his displays for the Clarets.
However, he struggled to hit top form at Everton last season, and some thought he would be relegated to third-choice at Goodison Park when Everton signed Kurt Zouma and Yerry Mina last summer.
Keane has returned to top form though, turning in impressive displays for the Toffees to earn a recall to the England setup, starting and scoring against Montenegro last week.
Now, the Daily Mail claim that Keane is attracting interest, and Tottenham took a first step towards a potential summer bid by scouting him in action against West Ham United on Saturday.
Keane helped Everton keep a fourth clean sheet in the last five games as the Toffees won 2-0, with Spurs and Arsenal scouts believed to have been watching Keane.
Spurs may well need a centre back this summer given the doubts over Toby Alderweireld’s future, and with English players needed at Tottenham for quota reasons, Keane certainly fits the bill.
Everton allegedly want £50million for Keane though, a full £20million more than what they paid two years ago – and whether Spurs are willing to pay that kind of money remains to be seen.
