Tottenham Hotspur were seemingly scouting AC Milan last night.
According to Sport Mediaset, Tottenham Hotspur sent a scout to watch AC Milan’s Franck Kessie and Suso against Atalanta on Saturday night.
Milan have been given a major boost by January signings Lucas Paqueta and Krzysztof Piatek, and they notched a hugely impressive win against a fine Atalanta side.
Piatek was on the scoresheet twice in a 3-1 win, with Hakan Calhanoglu picking up the other goal as Gennaro Gattuso’s men secured an outstanding victory.
It seems that two of Gattuso’s men were under the microscope though, as Sport Mediaset claim that Tottenham sent a scout to watch Suso and Franck Kessie.
Suso may be a familiar name to many, as he was on the books at Liverpool before heading to Milan in 2015, and the 25-year-old has impressed at the San Siro.
The Spaniard – who picked up a booking and was substituted after 77 minutes on Saturday – has hit six goals and eight assists this term, and could provide some additional creativity for Mauricio Pochettino.
Additionally, midfielder Kessie was on the radar. Kessie, 22, is actually on loan at Milan from Atalanta, but will sign a permanent deal at the end of the season and played the full 90 minutes against his parent club.
Ivorian international Kessie has notched three goals and one assist this season, and possesses the ideal traits to replace Mousa Dembele as Tottenham’s box-to-box midfielder.
Yet with Kessie alone valued at €40million (£35million), and Suso no doubt valued even higher than that, it would take a huge double deal to tempt Milan into a move, and Spurs seemingly had one more look at the pair last night ahead of a potential bid.
