According to The Telegraph, Tottenham view Burnley’s Nick Pope as the most likely successor to Hugo Lloris.
The report claims that Lloris could possibly join Paris Saint-Germain this summer, which would leave Spurs in need of a new No.1.
That man may well be Pope, who seems to be Tottenham’s first-choice to replace their World Cup winning captain.
If The Telegraph are correct, then José Mourinho would be getting a man with great experience at this level, and also a safe pair of hands.
Since replacing Tom Heaton at Turf Moor, Pope has racked up 101 Premier League appearances for the Clarets.
In that timeframe, the 28-year-old has kept 35 clean sheets, which is pretty good going – he averages a shutout every 2.9 games in England’s top-flight.

Pope is also beginning to earn international recognition.
The ex-Charlton man started England’s 5-0 win over San Marino on Thursday, where he earned his fourth cap for the Three Lions.

Depending on his and Jordan Pickford’s form between now and the end of the season, he may even start for England at EURO 2021.
If that does happen, Spurs would be wise to wrap up a deal before the tournament begins, or else they risk watching his value soar.
