According to the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur are keen to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
It’s claimed that Jose Mourinho wants to be reunited with Lingard, believing that he can get him back on track.
The 27-year-old is out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and may need to move on before next month’s transfer window.
Lingard is allegedly ‘seething’ that he wasn’t even on United’s bench against Crystal Palace on Saturday, and he may welcome a move to Spurs.
Lingard has struggled for top form since the 2018 World Cup, though he managed to break into that squad off the back of his form under Mourinho at Old Trafford.
He admitted to talkSPORT in 2018 that Mourinho had played a ‘massive part’ in his development, and thanked him for putting so much faith in him.

A £30million fee would allegedly be needed to lure Lingard away from his boyhood club, which seems a little expensive given that he hasn’t started a league game since January.
Lingard does have the versatility to play on either flank or as a number 10, but Spurs have just brought in Gareth Bale and need to revitalise Dele Alli.
Adding Lingard shouldn’t be a priority for Spurs right now even if Mourinho is a fan, especially given his form, age and the price tag involved, as well as Tottenham’s needs in other areas.
