According to the Daily Mail, Everton have now had a bid accepted for Southampton midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as Tottenham Hotspur face missing out.
Earlier today, the London Evening Standard claimed that Southampton had given Tottenham 48 hours to come up with a bid to match Everton.
Hojbjerg is Jose Mourinho’s top midfield target this summer, and the Dane was understood to be preferring a move to North London.
However, Everton have come forward with a £25million bid for Hojbjerg, and it’s stated that Southampton have now accepted that bid.
The Daily Echo now add that Hojbjerg has already visited Everton’s Finch Farm training ground, and has agreed personal terms as a move to Merseyside now seems almost done.
Southampton had approaches from both Everton and Spurs for the 24-year-old, but have picked Everton’s, which is £20million plus add-ons.

Spurs allegedly value Hojbjerg at £15million given that he has one year left on his contract, so it looks like they will be missing out.
Southampton only want straight cash for Hojbjerg, so a part-exchange deal involving Kyle Walker-Peters – who is currently on loan at Southampton – has been ruled out.
That’s a blow for Mourinho, and an interesting situation for Hojbjerg; he will now be playing for Carlo Ancelotti, the man who was in charge of Bayern Munich when they sold him to Southampton back in 2016.
