Jack Grealish is reportedly heartbroken that he will not be given the chance to leave Aston Villa for Tottenham Hotspur.

The Mirror reports that Spurs have seen two bids rejected for the 22-year-old – the second of which was worth £25 million – who was told by former Villa owner Tony Xia that he would be allowed to leave the club in the wake of their play-off final defeat at the end of last season.
However, with Villa under new management, it appears that the Championship club have decided to reject all offers for the playmaker, and he is said to be distraught at the Villans’ stance.
It must be noted that Grealish’s brother has taken to Twitter since the report emerged to insist that the Mirror’s suggestion is completely wide of the mark.

While missing out is not ideal for Tottenham in terms of this window, Grealish’s stance – if the reports are at all correct – could still benefit Mauricio Pochettino’s side at some stage during the coming windows.
If the attacking midfielder remains determined not to sign a new contract, then Spurs may be able to get Grealish for less than what they were reportedly prepared to pay this summer at a later stage. And if he runs his deal all the way down, Tottenham could be looking at a stunning bargain.
Pochettino may have to give up on the idea of signing Grealish before tomorrow’s deadline, but for a shrewd negotiator like Daniel Levy, Grealish’s reported stance may just be music to his ears ahead of the next few windows.
