Tottenham Hotspur’s pursuit of Giovani Lo Celso may have taken a boost.

According to Estadio Deportivo, Real Betis playmaker Giovani Lo Celso has told the club he wants to leave this summer to pursue Champions League football elsewhere.
Betis took Lo Celso on loan from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, and they turned his move permanent after hitting 16 goals from an attacking midfield role under Quique Setien.
Lo Celso, 23, it now a man in demand, and The Mirror recently claimed that he is attempting to push through a move to Tottenham Hotspur after Betis rejected a £62million offer.
The playmaker is keen to work with fellow Argentine Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, and he’s now allegedly told Betis that he wants to leave in order to play Champions League football.
It’s noted that there’s now a verbal agreement to let Lo Celso go for €75million (£67million) this summer, and that should be alerting Tottenham.
Lo Celso’s creative and goalscoring ability should be appealing to Spurs, and he could bring a new spark to the Tottenham attack.

Spurs may need to sell Christian Eriksen first though, and that looks to be a long, draw-out affair, meaning Pochettino may miss out on his top target given that Tottenham don’t have that money to splash right now.
Tottenham spent a similar fee on Tanguy Ndombele, and whilst Lo Celso would help complete the midfield overhaul, Spurs need to raise funds for a move, with the player continuing to make moves to get out of Betis.
