Tottenham are expected to be after a new centre-back this summer.

Turkish newspaper A Spor have claimed Tottenham Hotspur have tabled a bid of £15.9million for Besiktas centre-back Domagoj Vida, after his excellent displays at the World Cup for Croatia.
The 29-year-old has been fantastic for Croatia this summer, featuring in four of Croatia’s five games that places them in the semi-final of the World Cup – even scoring against hosts Russia last time out.
Vida is expected to start for Croatia on Wednesday in the semi-final of the World Cup against England, allowing Tottenham fans to have a good look at what could be their next signing.
The former Dynamo Kiev star only joined Besiktas back in January after becoming a free agent, but has impressed alongside ex-Real Madrid stopper Pepe with the Turkish outfit of late.

The 63-time international has four years remaining on his current contract with the Turkish contract and the ball is very much within their court in terms of Vida’s future. Indeed, Spurs’ bid is well below Besiktas’ asking price of £26.5million.
But Spurs’ opening bid may see the two parties make a compromise in terms of a fee, with doubts surrounding Toby Alderweireld’s future in north London – while Jan Vertonghen only has a year to run on his current deal.
