According to Wales Online, Tottenham Hotspur including Cameron Cater-Vickers in a deal for Joe Rodon may help them secure an agreement.
According to The Sun (6/10; page 54), Tottenham want to offer Carter-Vickers as a makeweight in a deal for Swansea defender Rodon.
Reports from Sky Sports suggested on deadline day that Tottenham were working on a deal for Rodon, with a value anywhere between £7million and £18million suggested.
No deal went through before the international deadline, but Premier League clubs can still sign from the EFL until next Friday, meaning the pursuit of Rodon isn’t over yet.
Spurs won’t want to splash the cash on the 22-year-old having already brought in a number of new signings, so adding in Carter-Vickers may be vital.
It’s claimed that Swansea boss Steve Cooper wants a new centre back, so if Rodon goes, he wants two – and that’s why adding in Carter-Vickers could win the race for Spurs.

Carter-Vickers, 22, spent the 2018-19 season on loan at Swansea, meaning he left before Cooper arrived, but his familiarity with the Swansea back line and their style may be valuable.
Swansea aren’t awash with cash, so Carter-Vickers being thrown into the deal make sense for all parties – especially with the rules on EFL trading before October 16th.
