Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly told by the Premier League that they will not be able to alter the dimensions of the Wembley pitch.
TheSpurs will play all their home matches at Wembley next season, a ground where Maurico Pochettino’s side won only one of the five matches they played last season.
In fact, the Wembley hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for them over the years, with the Spurs also failing to win their previous four matches at the national stadium stretching back to 2008 League Cup final.
There is a belief among the Spurs camp that the Wembley’s wide pitch is a major factor behind the club’s poor results.
According to the reports from The Times, Spurs discussed the possibility of seeking to reduce the size of the Wembley pitch.
A smaller playing area would suit Pochettino’s trademark pressing game, but they were made clear that such a change would not be permitted.

According to the new rule, standard Premier League pitch sizes should be 100metres x 68metres. Exceptions will be permitted where it is impossible to comply with that rule.
Clubs like Chelsea, Everton and Liverpool received an exemption of having a smaller pitch due to limited space at the grounds.
Wembley’s pitch size is 105m x 69m, so it will not apply for the Spurs. At best, they could ask the FA to trim the width by one metre.
