Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still at the front of the queue in the race to sign Celtic’s Kieran Tierney, despite the defender signing a new deal.
Kieran Tierney
According to a report from ESPN, Tottenham remain keen on and are leading the chase for Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, despite the fact that the left-back has recently signed a new deal with the Hoops.
Tierney is one of the most exciting full-backs plying his trade in Britain currently, quickly establishing himself as one of the key men in Brendan Rodgers’ side and certainly not looking out of place when he has played in the Champions League.

ESPN reported that Spurs, Arsenal and Manchester United all wanted to sign the 20-year-old, but he appeared to put a temporary end to the speculation by signing a new six-year contract with the Bhoys.
However, it appears that the deal has done little to deter the clubs chasing his signature, with ESPN reporting that the Premier League trio remain keen, and it is Mauricio Pochettino’s men who lead the race for his signature, having sent their chief scout to watch Celtic’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Tuesday night.
It is not surprising that Tierney’s new deal did nothing to put the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal off keeping a keen eye on him.

The youngster was really impressive in the narrow defeat to Bayern, and he should only get better as he gets older and gains more experience.
And unfortunately for Celtic, it appears that the Hoops face an uphill battle trying to keep the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Manchester United at bay.
