Tottenham Hotspur are still leading the race for Arkadiusz Milik, Calcio Mercato report, but Fiorentina could now enter the bidding.

Tottenham have been strongly linked with Milik throughout the transfer window, but they have failed to get a deal for the Polish international over the line.

With Tottenham now having under a week before deadline day, the Lilywhites will surely have to act fast to secure the signature of Milik.

However, their task of getting a deal done for Milik may just have become more difficult.

While Calcio Mercato say that Tottenham are still the most likely candidates to sign Milik, they now could face increased competition.

Fiorentina are said to have lined up the 26-year-old as a potential replacement for Federico Chiesa, who is interesting Juventus.

Napoli are believed to be willing to cash in on Milik, but whether Tottenham will meet their asking price remains to be seen.

Calcio Mercato claimed that Tottenham held a ‘positive meeting’ with Napoli chiefs last week, but very little progress seems to have been made since that discussion.

If Milik is to move he will become one of Tottenham’s top earners, as the Daily Mail claim he wants £160,000-a-week at his next employers.
