Since breaking into Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team, it’s safe to say that Harry Kane has been one of, if not the best striker in the Premier League.

Despite Spurs having experienced their fair share of ups and downs over the years, there is no questioning the magnificence of the England captain during his time at the club.

This season, Harry Kane surpassed Andy Cole’s goal tally of 187 goals to become the 3rd highest goalscorer in Premier League history, only behind the likes of Wayne Rooney and Alan Shearer.

In addition, the 29-year old also broke Sergio Aguero’s record of scoring the most league goals for a single club (184).

The Walthamstow-born No.9 looks on course to beat Alan Shearer’s all-time goal record in the Premier League (260, while also overtaking Jimmy Greaves as Tottenham’s record goalscorer.

For the Three Lions as well, the former Arsenal youth product just needs two goals to beat Wayne Rooney and become his country’s all-time top goalscorer.

Despite having a whole host of critics for his performances for Gareth Southgate’s side, the Spurs vice-captain became only the second Englishman to win a Golden Boot at a World Cup in 2018, after Gary Lineker.

Keeping all his ‘outstanding sporting achievements’ in mind, Harry Kane has been awarded the Freedom of the City of London, as reported by talkSPORT.

The Tottenham Hotspur icon is said to receive the prestigious award, after he returns to the English capital from the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.

Further details state that Kane was nominated for the honour by City of London Corporation’s policy chairman, Chris Hayward and deputy police chairman, Keith Bottomley.

Additionally, the City Council’s elected Court of Common council agreed to hand the English legend the award.

A day after Jurgen Klopp was awarded the Freedom of the City of Liverpool, another hero of his city has received his due recognition.
