Sport1 claim that Son Heung-min is now planning for the ‘next step’ in his career and is ready to leave Tottenham Hotspur – with Real Madrid and Carlo Ancelotti among his admirers. Son has a contract at Spurs until June 2025.
But the 30-year-old is seemingly ready to join one of Europe’s elite clubs. The report states that La Liga leaders Real Madrid want to sign the South Korea captain – but that he could easily join Bayern Munich, or Paris Saint-Germain.
Son has not previously stated his desire to leave Tottenham and on the face of it, appears happy at Tottenham. But it might be that after seven years at Spurs, and 341 appearances, he could consider leaving the North London club.
The report says Son is planning for his next step. Ancelotti is an admirer of ‘world class’ Son – and it is believed the ex-Bayer Leverkusen ace will make a decision over the next few months. It is unclear how much Spurs would want for Son.

Son planning for next step and is ready to leave Tottenham
It is a similar situation with Harry Kane and Manchester City in the summer of 2021. No-one can really blame Son for wanting to discover pastures new, but ultimately, Spurs will be desperate to keep him. He is pivotal to the London club.
Luckily for Spurs and Daniel Levy, they have a contract for Son that still has two and a half years left to run. They are in a strong position regarding his future. At 30, Son may find that the world’s biggest clubs would rather a younger ace.
It will be interesting to see if Son is still keen on an exit next summer. It might be that he waits to see how Tottenham get on this season, whether a trophy comes their way and they qualify for the top four. Like Kane, he will want trophies.
