The 24-year-old could be the latest player to agree fresh terms with the Premier League side.
Tottenham’s Erik Lamela
A report in the Daily Mirror has claimed that Erik Lamela wants his wages doubled before he signs a new deal with Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs have been incredibly busy in recent times as they have looked to tie down many of the men who helped the side put themselves in Premier League title contention last season, with Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen already agreeing new contracts while Kyle Walker also appears to have put pen to paper, according to the Mirror.
Several of Mauricio Pochettino’s squad have agreed new deals
But there appears to be something of a stumbling block currently preventing the Argentinian following in their footsteps. The Mirror reports that the 24-year-old – who currently earns £60,000 a week – wants a three-year extension added to his current three-year deal and wants to see his wages rise to £120,000 a week.
Based on his current form, it is arguably fair to say that Lamela has done enough to ask for improved terms. The former Roma man has maintained the impressive form he showed last term during the new campaign.

As well as scoring the equaliser during their opening day draw with Everton, Lamela also set up Spurs’ goal when the points were shared against Liverpool.
And continuing that kind of form could be crucial to Mauricio Pochettino’s men’s hopes of putting themselves in title contention once again this season.
