According to Get French Football News, Tottenham Hotspur have an ‘intense interest’ in signing Toulouse star Ibrahim Sangare.

It’s stated that Tottenham have been following Sangare for some time now, but have yet to make a solid move for him.

Toulouse alleged don’t feel under pressure to sell their star man even after relegation to Ligue 2, but a deal worth between €15million and €20million (£13.5million and £18million) would be wanted.

Sangare, 22, joined the Toulouse ranks from AS Denguele in his native Ivory Cost in 2016, and has been a first-team regular in recent times.

The 6ft 3in anchor man will be branded as a physical destroyer, but he is also a progressive passer when given the chance.

A move to the Premier League would surely appeal to Sangare given that he is facing a drop into Ligue 2, and his is the sort of deal that Spurs would be eyeing.

Liverpool have pulled off great signings from relegated sides in recent years, and Sangare is a perfect example of a talented young player who could be signed for a reasonable price following the drop.

Spurs have brought in one battling midfielder in Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, but if they want a taller presence in midfield, then Sangare fits perfectly – and should fit into the Tottenham budget.
