The player has long been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and they could be about to make their move.

According to a report from French television station Telefoot, Tottenham Hotspur are prepared to make a move for River Plate striker Sebastian Driussi this summer.

The 21-year-old scored 18 goals in 30 matches for the Argentine club this season and he could be the perfect option to ease the pressure on Tottenham’s regular top-scorer Harry Kane.

Spurs have been linked with Driussi for some time now and Telefoot recently claimed that following Marseille’s failed £11million bid, Tottenham are ready to try their hand for an exciting young prospect.

Driussi fits the bill as a typical Tottenham signing: Innately talented, good enough to make an immediate impact but young enough to see his value increase in the years ahead.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will know that £11million will not be enough to get a deal over the line, yet it remains to be seen how high he is willing to go to bring the Argentina under-20 international to North London.

Tottenham are likely to be busy in the summer transfer window as they strengthen in key areas in a bid to go one better than this season and win some silverware.

That is well within their grasp and one or two new strikers could make all the difference in 2018.

Driussi has played his entire career to date at River Plate, scoring 24 goals and providing eight assists in 90 matches.
