Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Montpellier’s Elye Wahi in recent weeks.

Now, Jeunes Footeux have provided an update on the reported Spurs and Arsenal target.

They claim that Wahi’s club has placed a €32million (£28million) price tag on the 20-year-old forward.

The French outlet also reiterated that Tottenham and Arsenal are following Wahi ‘very closely’.

In addition, they appeared to bemoan the fact Paris Saint-Germain haven’t signed him yet.

PSG signed Hugo Ekitike last summer, and he has struggled at the Ligue 1 giants.

Jeunes Footeux said Wahi ‘walks in the footsteps of Kylian Mbappe’ and it’s ‘too bad’ PSG didn’t sign him instead.

‘One of the best strikers in Ligue 1 at his age’

Wahi is an outstanding talent who would surely be a great addition to the Tottenham ranks.

This season, he has registered an impressive 12 goals and three assists from 25 Ligue 1 outings.

Wahiis also the second youngest player to score 25 goals in Ligue 1 (20 years and 76 days), behind Mbappe (19 years and 28 days).

Breaking the Lines wrote of the youngster last year: ‘Wahi is a pacey striker who does excel in transitions/

‘But his flexibility and range of finishing make him a lethal threat even for a deep-sitting side.

‘The one-touch finishing is exquisite, and he could be deadly in another counter-attacking side.‘

Meanwhile, Clermont coach Pascal Gastien recently said of Wahi: “I think he’s one of the best strikers in Ligue 1 at his age.

“What I know is that he’s a very good player. It’s not us who are going to say the opposite, every time time he plays against us, he scores goals!’

“He’s an effective player, that’s rare at that age. So yes, I think he will be a very, very good player.”

And Ex-Caen academy director Francis de Taddeo said of Wahi: “He is a powerful, athletic and fast player with a range of dribbling skills where only he knows what he is going to do next.”

All in all, Wahi sounds like a good shout for Tottenham.

He’s extremely talented, has plenty of years ahead of him, and seems relatively inexpensive for such a good prospect.
