Tottenham Hotspur reportedly scouted Valencia’s 1-0 win over Las Palmas.
According to Spanish newspaper Super Deportes, Tottenham Hotspur had a scout in attendance as Valencia beat Las Palmas 1-0 on Friday evening.
Spurs have had a fairly quiet summer compared to their Premier League rivals, as whilst the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United have all splashed the cash, Tottenham have been patient in the transfer market.
Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez is heading to North London, with the Colombian centre back poised to become Tottenham’s first signing of the transfer window – and more could yet follow.

With just over a week of the transfer window to go, Spurs are still in the market for other signings – and club scouts have been eyeing up potential targets in the last few days.
Spanish newspaper Super Deporte report that Tottenham scouts watched Valencia beat Las Palmas 1-0 thanks to a goal from Simone Zaza on Friday night, with Benfica, Juventus and Manchester United also sending representation to the game.
Whilst Argentinian defender Ezequiel Garay is mentioned in the report, he doesn’t exactly fit Pochettino’s approach given that he is approaching 31, but two of his Valencia team-mates could fit the bill for Spurs, either this summer or somewhere down the line.

With question marks over Danny Rose’s future in North London, Valencia’s Jose Gaya could emerge as a candidate to replace the England international. Gaya, 22, has been a regular with the Spain Under-21’s whilst making more than 100 appearances for Valencia, and possesses the pace and crossing ability to possibly replace Rose, if he leaves Spurs in the near future.
Another Valencia star who featured against Las Palmas was midfielder Carlos Soler, a talented Spanish playmaker with dribbling ability and a superb passing range. The 20-year-old has impressed in La Liga having come up through the ranks with Valencia, and he could offer a creative option behind Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele in the Spurs midfield.
It remains to be seen whether Spurs move for any player involved in Friday’s game, but having sent a scout to watch the game, Gaya and Soler stand out as the top young talents who could fit Pochettino’s approach at Tottenham, whilst also playing in positions of need for Spurs.
