According to Bild, Tottenham Hotspur scout Peter Braund was spotted at Wolfsburg’s clash with Bayer Leverkusen yesterday amid interest in Wout Weghorst.
It’s claimed that Braund lives near Hanover, so he is often seen at nearby Wolfsburg on scouting missions for Tottenham.
Tottenham are thought to be keen on Weghorst, but Wolfsburg allegedly want a fee of €35million (£32million) for the Dutchman.
That could be a problem for Spurs, and negotiating Wolfsburg down may be difficult given that he still has three years left on his contract.
Wolfsburg’s clash with Leverkusen finished in a 0-0 draw, meaning Weghorst failed to find the net in what could be his final game for the club.
Tubantia claim that Weghorst could become a Tottenham player this week, as Jose Mourinho desperately looks to bring in a new striker to support Harry Kane.

Weghorst, 28, fits the bill as a big and physical target man at 6ft 6in tall, and his record at Wolfsburg is impressive with 40 goals and 12 assists in 82 games.
The Express noted just days ago that Weghorst is keen on a move to Tottenham and would be willing to be second-choice behind Kane, and Braund’s presence at Wolfsburg’s game on Sunday suggests Tottenham are firmly in the hunt.
