Highly-rated midfielder was on target in the 7-0 thrashing of Azerbaijan – will he have caught Tottenham’s eye?

Tottenham Hotspur scouts assessed Hoffenheim starlet Nadiem Amiri during Germany U21s’ emphatic 7-0 victory over Azerbaijan last week.
The 21-year-old, who is also capable of playing on the left wing if required, was amongst the scorers for his country and produced an encouraging overall display, which will undoubtedly have impressed Tottenham’s representatives, as reported by Bild.de.

A player with vast potential, Amiri is renowned for his excellent technique, while he is also rather quick. There may well be some concerns regarding whether he could cope with the intensity and physicality of the Premier League, but there is little doubt about the prospect’s ability when in possession.
Part of the side that won the U21 European Championship this year, it is expected that Amiri will go on to become a senior Germany international and, as he continues to develop, the interest in him will inevitably intensify.

RB Leipzig have also been linked with Amiri, who signed a new contract with Hoffenheim in the summer that is set to run until 2020.
Amiri has featured 13 times for Hoffenheim across all competitions this season and has found the net on three occasions.
